The 2014 T-1000 Turkey Day Damage Control Workout
It’s time for The Annual T-1000 Turkey Day Damage Control Workout! Every year I share a killer workout for Thanksgiving (or for any holiday) to help you “exercise the demons” of a big feast with family and friends. I added a new twist this year by employing a low box/step to help make it as low-impact as possible without sacrificing the calorie burn. You can substitute with a phone book or a super firm pillow/cushion if needed. Oh yeah, this is a classic #YourBodyIsYourBarbell workout using only #bodyweight exercises.
Here’s how it works:
Perform each move for 30 seconds with no rest between them in the exact order listed for 3 straight minutes of work:
1- Low Box Runners
2- Hand Step-Ups
3- Low Box Lateral Runners
4- Lateral Hand Step-Ups
5- Low Box Sprinter Step-Backs- Left Side
6- Low Box Sprinter Step-Backs- Right Side
Now rest a minute. That’s 1 round.
Beginners should perform 5 total rounds for a 20-minute workout. Intermediate users should perform 10 total rounds for a 40-minute workout. Advanced users should perform 15 total rounds for a 60-minute workout that will have you burning 1,000 calories or more including a post-workout afterburn.
